Le chiese locali dell’Asia si aprono alla missione - Local Churches in Asia Open to Mission

Con rinnovato vigore e gioia le Chiese locali asiatiche accentuano la loro vocazione missionaria. Grande merito per questo nuovo impegno va alle riflessioni e alle direttive della FABC, dalle quali emerge "un nuovo modo di essere Chiesa oggi in Asia". L'identità missionaria si concretizza in alcuni orientamenti essenziali: essere Chiesa dei poveri e dei giovani; perseguire una profonda interiorità; generare e servire la vita; soprattutto, impegnarsi in un triplice dialogo: con il popolo, con le culture, con le religioni dell'Asia. Frutto più visibile del rinnovato impegno ad gentes delle Chiese locali asiatiche sono le sei congregazioni esclusivamente missionarie nate in Asia dal Concilio in poi.

The local Churches of Asia are stressing their missionary vocation with renewed vigour and joy. Great merit for this new commitment must be attributed to the studies and directives of the FABC, which have given rise to "a new way of being Church in Asia today". The missionary identity takes concrete form in a few essential orientations: to be the Church of the poor and of the youth; to seek a deep inner life; to foster and to serve life; and above all, to engage in a threefold dialogue: with the people, with cultures, and with the religions of Asia. The most visible fruit of the renewed ad gentes commitment of the local Churches in Asia are the six exclusively missionary Congregations that have been founded in Asia since the Council.
