THE ROLES OF COMBONI MISSIONARIES IN PALORINYA REFUGEE SETTLEMENT, MOYO UGANDA

Kumi Alison Stanley Woja Soma-Mile è un maestro sud-sudanese che attualmente risiede nel campo di rifugiati di Palorinya nel distretto di Moyo nell’Uganda del nord. Quando la guerra ha raggiunto il suo villaggio di Kajokeji ha dovuto fuggire in Uganda assieme a circa 250.000 persone che ora risiedono nei campi profughi.  Kumi Alison Stanley, riconoscendo il lavoro dei Missionari Comboniani (suore, fratelli e padri), sottolinea quanto sia importante per i ragazzi dei campi profughi poter accedere alla scuola perché scrive che “La pace futura e sostenibile nel Sud Sudan è nell'educazione”.

Kumi Alison Stanley Woja Soma-Mile is a South-Sudanese teacher who currently resides in the Palorinya refugee camp in the Moyo district of northern Uganda. When the war reached his village of Kajokeji he had to flee to Uganda along with about 250,000 people now living in the refugee camps. Kumi Alison Stanley, recognizing the work of the Comboni Missionaries (sisters, brothers and fathers), underlines how important it is for the children in the refugee camps to be able to access the school because, he writes, “The future and sustainable peace in South Sudan is in education".
