The Synod on Young People – Il Sinodo sui Giovani

Two articles – due articoli 

The first article deals with four challenges For the Bishops at Synod on young people. They are: 
First, the bishops need to acknowledge that they don't have a clue how to evangelize young people. The clergy needs to listen to the young before speaking to the young. And it needs to be a wide range of young people, not just those going to church.
Second, besides saying that they are spiritual but not religious, young people say that they want community. They find parishes stifling, judgmental and unwelcoming. 
Third, the church also must be relevant to the needs of young people. Young people today are sensitive to injustice and inequality. The social justice message of the church will resonate with the young who want to challenge the status quo. 
Finally, and not least, the bishops cannot ignore the clerical sex abuse crisis enveloping the church.

Il primo articolo tratta di quattro sfide per i vescovi al Sinodo sui giovani.
Primo, i vescovi devono riconoscere che non hanno la minima idea di come evangelizzare i giovani. Il clero ha bisogno di ascoltare i giovani prima di parlare ai giovani. E devono essere tutti i giovani non solo quelli che vanno in chiesa.
In secondo luogo, oltre a definirsi spirituali ma non religiosi, i giovani dicono che vogliono una comunità. Trovano le parrocchie soffocanti, con tendenze a giudicare e inospitali.
In terzo luogo, la chiesa deve anche attenta ai bisogni dei giovani. I giovani oggi sono sensibili all'ingiustizia e alla disuguaglianza. Il messaggio di giustizia sociale della chiesa avrà un eco speciale presso i giovani che vogliono sfidare lo status quo.
Infine, e non meno importante, i vescovi non possono ignorare la crisi degli abusi sessuali del clero che imprigionano la chiesa.

The second article highlights that sexual abuse, digital culture and creating a listening church were subjects raised within the four English-language working groups in their initial reports - at the end of the first round of working group reports that were presented before the synod on young people.
