Giorno di Comboni a Khartoum - Comboni Day in Khartoum

Khartoum 10 ottobre 2015.

1. Alcune foto della Messa solenne in onore del nostro Fondatore celebrata nel compound della cattedrale e presieduta dal Cardinal Zubeir.

Il compound era stracolmo. Quante persone? Cinquemila senza contare i bambini.

Nell'omelia, il Cardinale, tra l'altro, ha sottolineato l'importanza dell'istruzione, come mezzo per far progredire il Sudan, per farlo uscire dal 'immobilismo attuale dominato dalla corruzione a tutti i livelli. Questo per realizzare il piano del Comboni : Salvare l'Africa con l'Africa.

2. Il Comboni Day è stato celebrato anche nelle parrocchie e nelle scuole.

Qui al CCK abbiamo avuto, giovedì scorso, una messa solenne per tutti i nostri studenti e maestri cristiani delle Primarie e delle Secondarie compresa la sezione della ragazze, anzi, sono state proprio loro a chiedere ed animare la Messa.

A detta di p. Peppino (56 anni in Sudan) la Comboni Chapel non è mai stata così piena di studenti, sia all'interno che nelle verande.

Insomma, ripeto ciò che ho già detto altre volte:

San Daniele Comboni, qui in Sudan ed in particolare a Khartoum è proprio a casa sua!

Bisogna riconoscere che i canti in onore del Comboni, composti dal Cardinale e dai suoi collaboratori, aiutano molto a creare un'atmosfera di festa e di gioia ben evidente sui volti delle persone.

Che tutto questo sia di buon auspicio per la Chiesa in tutto il Sudan: nord, sud ecc.

1. Some photos of the Mass in honour of our Founder celebrated in the compound of the cathedral and presided over by Cardinal Zubeir.

The compound was packed. How many people? Five thousand without counting children.

In his homily the Cardinal, among others issues, stressed the importance of education as a means to help Sudan advance, to get it out from “inaction, dominated by corruption at all levels. This is to fulfil the plan of Comboni: Save Africa with Africa”.

2. Comboni Day was also celebrated in parishes and schools.

Here at the CCK we had, last Thursday, a solemn mass for all our students and teachers of Primary and Secondary schools including the section of the girls, in fact, they have been the ones to ask and animate the Mass.

According to Fr.. Peppino (56 years in the Sudan) the Comboni Chapel has never been so full of students, both inside and in the verandas.

In short, I repeat what I said before:

St. Daniel Comboni, here in Sudan, especially in Khartoum, is at home!

We must recognize that the songs in honour of Comboni, composed by the Cardinal and his team, has helped a lot to create an atmosphere of celebration and joy shown on the people’s faces.

That all this be of a good omen for the Church throughout Sudan: north, south etc.
